About Cridge Seeds Ltd
Julie and Stuart Cridge
Cridge Seeds is situated 50kms south of Christchurch in Doyleston, Canterbury near the Rakaia River – famous for jetboating, trout and salmon fishing. Stuart Cridge, Managing Director, took over the company in 1982. Cridge Seeds Ltd had already been a long established business. Julie, Stuart's wife, is marketing and business manager. A Store Manager and Operations Manager are employed full time and part time staff are employed between the months of January and April to cater for the demand on seed sales.
January until April are the busiest months for Cridge Seeds as the ryegrass, clover, peas, oats and sundry arrive in large quantities on a regular basis to be cleaned, processed, tested and then mixed ready to move out the door to meet farmers requirements for sowing alone, or in mixes for winter grazing, pasture renewal or spring silage. Spring sowing follows on August until November.
Northland field days in Dargaville, Central District field days in Feilding and June field days at Mystery Creek in the North and Southern field days in Canterbury and Gore have proved successful with farmers interested in the existence of Cridge Seeds and the effect that they are having on the local markets. High quality seed at competitive prices with GST and Freight included are seriously taken into consideration when farmers are looking to sow their pastures. Preference to customer service is also provided by Cridge Seeds Ltd and the fact that we are here to talk about your seed requirements year after year.
